Arena Rebuilt is being developed using Unity software. Daggerfall Unity inspired the question that started it: “Daggerfall has a Unity port—why doesn’t Arena have a similar modern recreation?”

The first goal is to rebuild the complete original game faithfully with modern controls, modern display support, improved stability, and mod support.

The project is being built by The_Godhead_Dev under TrainDontStop Online Studios. More than 300 hours have already gone into reverse engineering, research, testing, tools, and reconstruction.

In active development

The starting dungeon’s visual reconstruction is now the accepted reference for the rest of the game. I’m finishing its shared gameplay and interface work before moving into the wider map.

The full game is not finished, and there is no public build or release date yet.

FAQ

Is this an official Bethesda or ZeniMax project?

No. This is a fan-made project by The_Godhead_Dev.

Can I play it yet?

Not publicly. There is no download or release date yet.

Will the faithful remake stay separate?

Yes. Rebuilding the complete original game comes first and remains its own mode.

What comes after the faithful remake?

The long-term World of Tamriel idea may eventually place the preserved Arena campaign in a continuous Tamriel, but that comes later and does not replace the faithful reconstruction.
