Daggerfall Unity inspired the question that began Arena Rebuilt: if Daggerfall could be reconstructed for modern systems with Unity software, what could a careful modern reconstruction do for Arena?

The relationship stops at inspiration. Daggerfall Unity is the Daggerfall Workshop open-source recreation of The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall in the Unity engine. Arena Rebuilt concerns the first game, The Elder Scrolls: Arena, and is developed independently by The_Godhead_Dev. The projects are not affiliated.

What Arena Rebuilt is building

Arena Rebuilt’s first goal is to rebuild the complete original Arena campaign and game rules faithfully, with modern controls and display support, improved stability, dependable saves, mod-friendly data and tools, and optional quality-of-life improvements.

What is available now?

Arena Rebuilt 0.9.5 Beta is publicly playable now. Quests and audio are implemented, the world can be explored across dungeons, settlements, and wilderness, and development continues on unfinished presentation details and remaining bugs.
